Hi, I’m Rob, I’m a strength and conditioning coach with experience working with developing and elite athletes in different sports and cultures. I’m from Dorking, England.
If you’re a professional, semi-professional or amateur athlete looking to take your physical training or rehabilitation seriously and would like some professional guidance and direction then I can help.
I started my career as a full-time intern at AFC Bournemouth, and then moved to the south of Spain to work with developing and professional tennis players at SotoTennis Academy. I was fortunate to work with players who wanted to gain scholarship to American University or play on the pro tour.
In Oct 2015 I moved back to England to work at Sussex County Cricket Club. Coaching the Men’s 1st XI, Women’s 1st XI and academy led me to want to further my development in cricket and excel as a practitioner working with cricketers.
In September 2017 I started working for Sri Lanka Cricket. I led the strength and conditioning department based in Colombo and covered the physical training for the National Men’s and Women’s Teams all the way through to development squads.
I have also lectured to various university students about starting a career in strength and conditioning and contributed to the strength and conditioning elements of the current BSc course at University of Portsmouth. I’m currently undergoing a Professional Doctorate in Sport and Exercise Science at University of Portsmouth looking in to optimal methods of training for international sub-continental cricketers.
When I’m not coaching, I like to read, write and listen to music. I play cricket, but will try my hand at any sport.
